From my first meeting with Stacey and Jamie I knew their day would be special, the love they have for each other and their baby girl Lucy shines through and you can see it in their wedding gallery. The marriage took place at Hotel Van Dyk in Chesterfield, Derbyshire. The hotel room in which Stacey and her bridesmaids were getting ready was alive - a bunch of bubbly girls all getting ready for a special day! Lucy, who was just 10 months, slept peacefully while the ladies busily got ready for the special day and Emma Kendall (Makeup Artist) and Beau Hair worked their magic. In the bridal suite awaited matching pink suede heels for the bridesmaids along with stunning pink lace dresses from Chi Chi London. Stacey's fit and flare dress from New York Bride also had lace detailing, with delicate cap sleeves and a gorgeous button back. The dainty peach rose bridesmaid's bouquets were perfectly suited and set off Stacey's teardrop bridal bouquet which were all by Pinks Florist, Beighton. Jamie arrived in style in a family members Porsche - his best man looked bewildered as they stepped out to greet some guests that had gathered at the venue. The groomsmen wore suits from M&S with ivory ties and a classic rose buttonhole. The images really do tell the story of the day - full of fun and laughter. Thank you Stacey and Jamie for choosing me to capture these special memories for you and I wish you all the happiness in the world!

Last month I was back at a favourite venue of mine; Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield. Thea and Neil had a D.I.Y edge to their big day and put so much effort into making sure every detail was just how they'd imagined. Neil received a very sentimental gift from Thea on the morning of the wedding, given to him via her father - some cufflinks to wear on the day with images of two loved ones who couldn't be there. Understandably this was a very emotional and touching moment for the guests, as well as between Neil and his new Father-in-Law. Thea and her bridal party were busy getting ready upstairs with the help of their make-up artist Ruby Mccrudden and hair stylist Hollie to give them their glamorous looks for the day. Their high heeled shoes all sat in a neat row by the door while they whizzed around the room helping eachother get ready and also look after Thea and Neil's four legged baby boy Rusty! There were lovely soft purple hues in the bridesmaids dresses and in the flowers by Charlotte which were beautifully arranged throughout the venue. Rusty wore a purple tartan bowtie which perfectly matched the Father of the Bride's kilt. The ceremony was held in Whirlowbrook's Oak room, the guests enjoyed music by a String Duo whilst watching the bridal parties entrance. There were a few tears during the ceremony (Neil's reaction when he saw Thea was heart-warming) along with lots of laughter. After the ceremony we headed into the gardens for drinks, confetti, bouquet throwing and other fun! The gardens looked lovely and we managed to grab some images with the last of the years bluebells! Later after enjoying the wedding breakfast it was time for speeches - Neil had two best men which means double the fun! Thea and Neil decided that they wanted to have a little bit of a twist during their first dance so after faking a little bust up during their romantic slow song, they went into a Pulp Fiction-esaue dance along with their guests and some of the Whirlowbrook staff! I was so pleased when Chelsey asked if we could meet to discuss her and Adam's wedding photography, after meeting at secondary school I remembered her fun and bubbly character and knew their day would be full of fun!
The springtime sun came out for their special day at Wortley Hall, Yorkshire and we were able to all their photos in the beautiful grounds where the daffodils were in bloom! Their guests had a great day. The bridal party looked stunning when I arrived with their hair by Mel at Eden Hairdressing and were in the process of having makeovers by the lovely Make-up by Pacha. Chelsey wore a stunning fishtail dress from Wed2b, Rotherham and veil and had been given a "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" to wear from her family members. Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bridal party downstairs was Adam and his groomsmen who wore suits by Reece Ford Suit Hire in Dronfield along with their classic rose buttonholes from Sarah's Florist, which matched perfectly with the dreamy mixed ivory bouquets. Details can really make a wedding - they can completely transform a venue and bring a quirky twist to your big day! Todays post is all about this gorgeous couple who got married on Easter Sunday last year at the magnificent Sheffield City Hall. Colourful tulips brought a spring feel to a slightly rainy Sunday and there was no shortage of sunshine inside the hall with Amy's flower girls dancing around the guests and the three best men getting together for a shared speech...poor Aldo!
This was such a fun, lighthearted wedding to be a part of! Happy 1st Anniversary to Amy + Aldo! I was so excited when I was asked to be part of this styled shoot organised by wedding planners Once Upon a Wedding with a whole team of local suppliers, including Chesterfield based Tipi & Kata. The day started with some Oh So Makeup magic for the hair and make-up on the lovely bridal model Katy, while she got to know her Groom for the day - Doug. While Katy enjoyed some TLC in the make-up chair, perched on her lap was her puppy bridesmaid Scout, who stole everyones hearts! Scout looked even more adorable in her flower collar made by Amy at Polka Dot Florist, Ripley. Matching the purple hues of the floral arrangements around the tipi as well as the two statement bridal bouquets and crown. Katy wore a stunning dress by Susanna Greening which was a silk embroidered, polka dot dress with special 'something blue' mixed buttons down the back. The detail of this dress was incredible and the length was perfect for this playful shoot. Doug went smart-casual in a waistcoat from Tweed and Groom with contrasting chinos. I worked alongside the lovely Mariola Zoladz and Lukas & Laura Films which was great as we could all focus on different aspects of the shoot! Salute Prosecco bar was on hand to keep us all refreshed and provide a pretty fairy lit backdrop for the gorgeous couple. Brides up North feature: Click here I drove into the beautiful ground of Whirlowbrook Park up to the beautiful hall where Leanne and James would be married later that day, I was greeted by a room full of cheery bridesmaids and Leanne having her make-up done by Emma. All the Bridesmaids wore gorgeous baby pink dresses and floral head crowns to match, and Leanne's wore a stunning embellished, strapless dress and lovely sparkling accessories. The ceremony was relaxed and heartfelt, with Leanne and James smiling the whole way through!
Leanne stayed upbeat despite the drizzling rain outside whilst greeting her guests and decided she still wanted to have photos outside with her new husband so we took shelter in a woodland area. Later all guests were able to join us outside as the weather brightened up. I joined the happy couple later in the evening for their reception, where the younger guests had already taken to the dance floor before Leanne and James performed their first dance. |
