Wedding in Wonderland at the Leopold Hotel, Sheffield

The images definitely tell a story from Rich & Hannah's special day at The Leopold Hotel in the centre of Sheffield. It was a lovely summers day in August and there were smiles all round!

Hannah Atter was Hannah's make up artist on the day, she looked beautiful as ever and her reaction when she saw herself in the mirror was priceless. Her soft, pink and rose gold look completed her accessories and flowers perfectly.
Hannah wore a breathtaking gown by KMR Bespoke Bridal Designer which was a lace and satin floor length circle dress with an off-the-shoulder lace bodice which she removed after their first dance for a different look in the evening. Hannah traditionally wore a veil from KMR over her face as she walked down the aisle, and to read her heartfelt handwritten vows to Rich - and of course shed a little tear when he read his too!

Hannah & Rich thought of every detail for their day - they had an Alice in Wonderland themed wedding breakfast of Afternoon Tea. Their table names were named after places in Berlin where Hannah & Rich got engaged and also went on their Honeymoon!

Hannah & Rich opted for a table for two at their wedding breakfast, which was really unique and special as they could spend a bit of time as a newly married couple!

IN THE HEART OF SHEFFIELD

Today on the blog I am heading back to sunnier days again, for this beautiful Sheffield wedding last July. Lindsay and Andrew chose to marry in the iconic Crucible Theatre in the heart of Sheffield City Centre before heading to their Tipi reception.

The day began at St Paul's Hotel where Lindsay and her bridal party got ready with the help of make up artist Laura Gingell from CRAFT. Lindsay wore a satin strapless gown with beautiful embroidering and had a beautiful bouquet full of ivory flowers which complemented the neutral bridesmaid gowns perfectly.

Lindsay and her party headed in through the stage door and made their way to the ceremony which was held in the Adelphi Suite of The Crucible Theatre with a unique view overlooking Tudor Square.

After the ceremony the guests enjoyed a drink in the Crucible bar and showered the happy couple in Confetti before heading off on the stunning 1950's bus which took them to Worrall where the Tipi stood waiting, full of gorgeous decoration and ready for the party ahead!

The ladies were greeted with a very practical favour of flip-flops, you
don't last long on a field in heels after all! The men received special edition bottles of Henderson's Relish, featuring the Crucible Theatre!

DO-NUTS ABOUT EACH OTHER

Looking back to Summer on a dreary January day, today I am re-visiting Jess and Luke's July wedding in Sheffield. I met Jess on the morning of her wedding at her and Luke's new home where she was getting ready with her lovely bridesmaids. To help with the preparations were Beth Brooke Makeup Artistry and VIVA Hair & Beauty.

The stunning bouquets and button holes were by 'of the wild.' florists in Broomhill, Sheffield. They were wonderfully simple and so
elegant, with a mixture of light coloured flowers and crisp, fresh greenery to create a really organic look.

Jess wore a gorgeous ivory and blush Ladybird dress from Mirage Couture in Kiveton. The bridesmaids wore beautiful floor length dresses by The Dessy Group which were also from Mirage Couture.  Each of the four ladies wore a different neutral shade, which helps greatly when two of the bridesmaids are identical twins! I loved the mixed colour choices!

Luke and his groomsmen wore grey three piece suits (Ashley Rodgers, Sheffield) with deep emerald green ties. Luckily Luke remembered his tissues as there were a few emotional moments throughout the day...

The ceremony was held at St. Giles Parish Church in Killamarsh which is a beautiful quaint church and afterwards the guests headed to Rother Valley Golf Club for a wedding breakfast after my own heart, a Yorkshire favourite - Pie and Peas! The sun didn't stop shining for this couple who are FULL of fun which is so evident looking back at the photos - they were always up for having a good laugh!

Jess and Luke opted to make charity donations in place of favours, to a South Yorkshire Animal Rescue Charity called Rain Rescue which is very close to their hearts. Jess and her sister have raised a lot of money for Rain Rescue in the past and Jess does illustrations for them regularly so it was the perfect oppurtunity to get their name out there to their guests who could keep the little cards as keepsakes. Jess said "Instead of spending £100 on some sugared almonds, I wanted our money to be put to good use and I know it would help a lot there!".

Jess created a beautiful 12 tier polystyrene cake, with lots of help from Luke's younger sister and bridesmaid Katie, who decorated the whole thing! The guests could then tuck into a variety of Krispy Kreme donuts instead of wedding cake, which went down a treat!

There was a fabulous team to help out Luke and Jess to cut down on big expenses and make some of the decor and stationary at home. Jess designed and printed her invites and order of service at home and the bridesmaids put them all together. They also crafted the name place settings with twigs and ribbon, decorated little candle jars, made a top table backdrop as well as a number of other details along the way! Jess' Mum was on hand to make the table cloths and lace runners and there were a lot of tables due to celebrating along with so many friends and family! Thank you for choosing me and I wish Luke and Jess every happiness!

Wow Jenny!! I can't even explain how thrilled I am with my wedding pictures! I can't stop looking through them!! I've been trying to pick the best ones to have printed onto a canvas and there are just so many good ones, it's too hard to choose! EVERYONE has commented on how sneaky you was taking the photos so we got the most beautiful natural shots, no one even noticed you taking them! I can't wait to have an event or baby so I can hire you to take more gorgeous photos! Absolutely stunning!! Amazing!! Out of this world!! I can never ever stop giving you compliments on how good of a photographer you are!! And you edited the paint out of the carpet and everything! Superstar!!! Thank you sooo much!!! I could cry with happiness that I get to keep these photos forever and forever!! Xx

It's been a while since I last shared a real wedding on the blog, it's been a crazy summer and I woke up in November! This August wedding at Whirlowbrook Hall, Sheffield was definitely one to remember. From first meeting Lucy, I knew her day would be full of style and soon after when I met her lovely partner Jake and their two girls, Evie and Isla, it confirmed it would also be a day full of fun!

THEA + NEIL

Last month I was back at a favourite venue of mine; Whirlowbrook Hall in Sheffield. Thea and Neil had a D.I.Y edge to their big day and put so much effort into making sure every detail was just how they'd imagined.

Neil received a very sentimental gift from Thea on the morning of the wedding, given to him via her father - some cufflinks to wear on the day with images of two loved ones who couldn't be there. Understandably this was a very emotional and touching moment for the guests, as well as between Neil and his new Father-in-Law.

Thea and her bridal party were busy getting ready upstairs with the help of their make-up artist Ruby Mccrudden and hair stylist Hollie to give them their glamorous looks for the day. Their high heeled shoes all sat in a neat row by the door while they whizzed around the room helping eachother get ready and also look after Thea and Neil's four legged baby boy Rusty!

There were lovely soft purple hues in the bridesmaids dresses and in the flowers by Charlotte which were beautifully arranged throughout the venue. Rusty wore a purple tartan bowtie which perfectly matched the Father of the Bride's kilt.

The ceremony was held in Whirlowbrook's Oak room, the guests enjoyed music by a String Duo whilst watching the bridal parties entrance. There were a few tears during the ceremony (Neil's reaction when he saw Thea was heart-warming) along with lots of laughter.

After the ceremony we headed into the gardens for drinks, confetti, bouquet throwing and other fun! The gardens looked lovely and we managed to grab some images with the last of the years bluebells! Later after enjoying the wedding breakfast it was time for speeches - Neil had two best men which means double the fun!

Thea and Neil decided that they wanted to have a little bit of a twist during their first dance so after faking a little bust up during their romantic slow song, they went into a Pulp Fiction-esaue dance along with their guests and some of the Whirlowbrook staff!

CHELSEY + ADAM

I was so pleased when Chelsey asked if we could meet to discuss her and Adam's wedding photography, after meeting at secondary school I remembered her fun and bubbly character and knew their day would be full of fun!

The springtime sun came out for their special day at Wortley Hall, Yorkshire and we were able to all their photos in the beautiful grounds where the daffodils were in bloom! Their guests had a great day.

The bridal party looked stunning when I arrived with their hair by Mel at Eden Hairdressing and were in the process of having makeovers by the lovely Make-up by Pacha. Chelsey wore a stunning fishtail dress from Wed2b, Rotherham and veil and had been given a "something old, something new, something borrowed and something blue" to wear from her family members.

Eagerly awaiting the arrival of the bridal party downstairs was Adam and his groomsmen who wore suits by Reece Ford Suit Hire in Dronfield along with their classic rose buttonholes from Sarah's Florist, which matched perfectly with the dreamy mixed ivory bouquets.

BOHO BELLE - STYLED SESSION

I was so excited when I was asked to be part of this styled shoot organised by wedding planners Once Upon a Wedding with a whole team of local suppliers, including Chesterfield based Tipi & Kata.  The day started with some Oh So Makeup magic for the hair and make-up on the lovely bridal model Katy, while she got to know her Groom for the day - Doug.

While Katy enjoyed some TLC in the make-up chair, perched on her lap was her puppy bridesmaid Scout, who stole everyones hearts! Scout looked even more adorable in her flower collar made by Amy at Polka Dot Florist, Ripley. Matching the purple hues of the floral arrangements around the tipi as well as the two statement bridal bouquets and crown.

Katy wore a stunning dress by Susanna Greening which was a silk embroidered, polka dot  dress with special 'something blue' mixed buttons down the back. The detail of this dress was incredible and the length was perfect for this playful shoot. Doug went smart-casual in a waistcoat from Tweed and Groom with contrasting chinos.

I worked alongside the lovely Mariola Zoladz and Lukas & Laura Films which was great as we could all focus on different aspects of the shoot! Salute Prosecco bar was on hand to keep us all refreshed and provide a pretty fairy lit backdrop for the gorgeous couple.

PRETTY IN PINK

I drove into the beautiful ground of Whirlowbrook Park up to the beautiful hall where Leanne and James would be married later that day, I was greeted by a room full of cheery bridesmaids and Leanne having her make-up done by Emma. All the Bridesmaids wore gorgeous baby pink dresses and floral head crowns to match, and Leanne's wore a stunning embellished, strapless dress and lovely sparkling accessories. The ceremony was relaxed and heartfelt, with Leanne and James smiling the whole way through!

Leanne stayed upbeat despite the drizzling rain outside whilst greeting her guests and decided she still wanted to have photos outside with her new husband so we took shelter in a woodland area. Later all guests were able to join us outside as the weather brightened up.

I joined the happy couple later in the evening for their reception, where the younger guests had already taken to the dance floor before Leanne and James performed their first dance.
