Despite being predominantly studio based I do love to run a few outdoor sessions per year - I love how chilled out kids are when we're outdoors, it's lots of fun!
The bluebell sessions take place in May and can include portraits of your children both together and individually and if you want to get in too that's always welcomed! The bluebell sessions are perfect for any babies above 6 months old - if a baby can sit unaided that's perfect - I usually bring a basket prop for the little ones and then use a log in the woods for older children to sit on together (see gallery below). If your babies are now young adults - don't be put off having a session - the outdoor sessions are perfect for teenagers too! 2020 bluebell sessions will take place on the 10th May and I have TWO SPACES left for this date but I may open up a reserve date if the weather is fine on the 10th! If you would like to know more about these sessions please don't hesitate to ask --> CONTACT FORM

Since becoming an Auntie I have really appreciated being self-employed as it means I get to spend lots of time with my Nephews, along with my Sister and Mum. We are always off on days out and so I thought I would share some of our favourites! First up has to be YORKSHIRE WILDLIFE PARK! (Doncaster) We first went when Dougie was a teeny tot. Although he was a little too young to appreciate his surroundings fully, we all LOVED it! We soon decided to get an annual pass to allow us to go whenever we liked and Dougie had free entry until he turned 3!
Next up is somewhere we go quite often and lots of my clients will know this is a favourite place of mine for children's outdoor photoshoots too! GRAVES PARK is local to us (Norton, Sheffield) and somewhere I can remember visiting as a child myself! Graves Park has many options and before Dougie arrived we regularly visited with our Labradors and walked through the woods. We never park in the main car park (around £1 per hour) as we like a little walk first. Dougie's favourite thing about Graves Park is the new addition of the Go Karts which are £1 a go - I usually get the backseat driver role! As mentioned previously Dougie isn't hugely bothered by the animals but there are plenty to see especially for a Free Entry Farm! You can buy food for some of them too. POSITIVES OF GRAVES...
When we fancy some really good coffee and grub we head to FORGE DAM CAFE and have a little walk through the woods, throw rocks into the river shouting 'PLONK' and then head to the park. I always remember the slide here from being a little girl! We have lunch in the cafe - they serve the BEST sausage rolls. We usually buy some duck food here too! I get so many people asking me "So...What is a CAKE SMASH?" and I even spoke live on Toby Foster's BBC Radio Sheffield Breakfast show recently telling him all about them! Cake smash and splash sessions are a great way to celebrate a little ones first birthday. They are great fun for baby and for you too! It's that age when a little ones personality really shines through in photographs. I am a creative soul, so flamboyant themes really are my thing - I plan them for months before your little ones special birthday. I have created some very exciting themes so far, ranging from Peter Rabbit to Alice in Wonderland. I also have 'bucket list' of ideas I'd love to try so if you're not sure - just ask! You don't need to worry about providing props or outfits for the cake smashes as I have lots on hand. You can add a cake or bring your own if you're a whizz in the kitchen! I know messy play isn't for everybody and I offer CAKE FREE birthday sessions too! Whether you'd like to bring a food alternative such as fruit or a dairy free cake, or if you'd like it to be mess free altogether! The theme can still be just as extravagant and it can still include a SPLASH section too! My cake smashes take place in my home studio in Sheffield, South Yorkshire. Here is a Youtube slideshow of lovely birthday boys Toy Story themed cake smash and splash! Hello! I am Jenny Mills, a self-employed children/family photographer from Yorkshire.
